Sarah gave us invaluable direction, advice and ideas on the refurbishment of our house to make better use of living space and add that ‘wow’ factor we were missing. She has transformed our house into a much brighter and modern environment injecting elements of colour with accessories and enhancing my own preference of neutral backdrops with use of warmer tones to complement. Sarah suggested completely switching the kitchen/diner round and raising the ceiling, also installing skylights and a large picture window in front of which we now have our table so meals can be had overlooking the garden and a total transformation with the additional daylight coming in. To add to this she suggested removing the wall between kitchen and living room and install floor to ceiling folding glass doors separating the two that can be pushed back with ease for a completely open plan feel. Sarah recommended paint colours, the layout of the kitchen, flooring and accessories of colours that linked the rooms together. She was always on hand for as much or little input that we wanted. Even with accessories and lighting Sarah presented ideas and recommendations that I would not have explored left to my own devices. I am so glad that we have put many of these into place. Our front room also had an uplift with the layout of furniture, injection of colour and modern lighting. Upstairs Sarah recommended taking a bit from two bedrooms to form an en-suite to the main bedroom with the ingenious addition of a light tunnel which makes it bright and airy. Wardrobes were custom built and low level bedroom furnishings sourced resulting in a very luxe result. Sarah always presented options across a range of costings so that we could consider perhaps paying a little more on one part of the project if we wished and a little less on another. I first hired Sarah Finney to design the living/dining room in my 2 bed apartment. This involved choosing a new corner sofa and a dining table and chairs. I would not have chosen the colour Sarah picked for the sofa but I and my family all love it. She also chose a TV stand and sideboard. The layout is particularly good because previously it was hard to see and talk to others now at least 6 people can all see each other and the tv when seated. It was particularly helpful that Sarah knew and took me to different stores and on-line to help choose the furniture. More recently she has organised repainting the flat and replacing the wood flooring throughout. She has help select and display all my paintings and pictures and changed several light fittings.
